Create your first short link in under 2 minutes
This guide walks you through creating a ShortyLink account and shortening your first URL. You'll have a working short link in less than 2 minutes.
By the end of this guide, you will have:
- A ShortyLink account
- Your first shortened link
- Basic understanding of the dashboard
Step 1: Create Your Account
Visit shortylink.io/auth/signup to begin.
Choose Your Sign-In Method
You can create an account using:
- Email - Sign up with your email address and password
- Google - Use your Google account for quick signup
- GitHub - Sign in with your GitHub account
Verify Your Email
After signing up with email, check your inbox for a verification email. Click the link to verify your account and you're ready to go.
Step 2: Create Your First Link
Once logged in, you'll see your dashboard. Here's how to create a link:
- Click the "New Link" button in the top right corner
- Paste your long URL in the "Destination URL" field
- (Optional) Customize your short link with a custom alias
- Click "Create Link"
Pro Tip
You can also create links directly from the homepage without logging in. However, anonymous links have limited features and analytics.
Step 3: Share Your Link
Your new short link is now ready to share! You can:
- Copy the link to your clipboard with one click
- Share directly to social media
- Generate a QR code for print materials
- View real-time analytics as clicks come in
