Welcome to ShortyLink. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our URL shortening service. By using ShortyLink, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using ShortyLink ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

You must be at least 16 years old to use this Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this age requirement.

2. Description of Service

ShortyLink provides URL shortening services that allow you to:

  • Create shortened URLs that redirect to your original long URLs
  • Track click analytics and performance metrics
  • Customize short links with branded domains and aliases
  • Access additional features based on your subscription plan

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time with or without notice.

3. Account Registration

3.1 Account Creation

4. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree NOT to use ShortyLink to create short links to content that:

  • Is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable
  • Infringes on intellectual property rights of others
  • Contains malware, viruses, or other harmful code
  • Facilitates phishing, scams, or fraudulent schemes
  • Distributes spam or unsolicited commercial messages
  • Contains adult/explicit content without appropriate warnings
  • Promotes violence, terrorism, or hate speech
  • Violates any applicable laws or regulations
  • Impersonates any person or entity
  • Collects personal information without consent

We reserve the right to disable any link that violates these guidelines and suspend accounts engaged in violations.

5. Link Ownership and Content

5.1 Your Content

You retain ownership of the URLs and content you link to through our Service. You grant us a limited license to process, store, and redirect to your URLs as necessary to provide the Service.

5.2 Link Availability

Short links may be disabled or removed if they violate our Terms, are reported for abuse, or if required by law. We do not guarantee permanent availability of any shortened URL.

5.3 Anonymous Links

Links created without an account may be subject to expiration and limited features. We encourage creating an account for persistent links.

6. Subscription Plans and Payment

6.1 Free and Paid Plans

ShortyLink offers free and paid subscription plans. Features and limits vary by plan. See our pricing page for current plan details.

6.2 Payment Terms

Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. All fees are non-refundable except as required by law or stated in our refund policy.

6.3 Automatic Renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date. You can cancel at any time through your account settings.

6.4 Price Changes

We may change subscription prices with 30 days' notice. Price changes apply at your next billing cycle.

7. Intellectual Property

7.1 Our Property

The Service, including its design, features, code, and content, is owned by ShortyLink and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer any part of the Service.

7.2 Trademarks

"ShortyLink" and our logo are trademarks. You may not use our trademarks without prior written permission.

7.3 Feedback

Any feedback, suggestions, or ideas you submit may be used by us without compensation or attribution.

8. API Usage

If you use our API, you agree to:

  • Comply with API documentation and rate limits
  • Not abuse, overload, or disrupt the API
  • Keep your API keys confidential
  • Not use the API to create competing services

We may revoke API access for violations or excessive usage without notice.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SHORTYLINK AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

  • Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
  • Loss of profits, data, business opportunities, or goodwill
  • Any damages exceeding the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim

Some jurisdictions do not allow limitation of liability, so these limitations may not apply to you.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless ShortyLink and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

  • Your use of the Service
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any third-party rights
  • Content you link to through our Service

12. Modifications to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

13. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where ShortyLink is incorporated, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration, except where prohibited by law. You waive any right to participate in class action lawsuits.
