Custom Domains

DNS Configuration

Configure DNS records to connect your domain to ShortyLink

After adding your domain to ShortyLink, you need to configure DNS records at your domain registrar to point your domain to our servers.

Subdomain Configuration (CNAME)

For subdomains like go.yourcompany.com, add a CNAME record:

TypeNameValueTTL
CNAMEgoproxy.shortylink.io3600

Note

Replace "go" with your actual subdomain. If your full domain is link.mybrand.com, use "link" as the name.

Root Domain Configuration

For root domains (apex domains) like yourlinks.com, the configuration depends on your DNS provider:

Option A: ALIAS/ANAME Record

If your DNS provider supports ALIAS or ANAME records (Cloudflare, DNSimple, DNS Made Easy):

TypeNameValue
ALIAS@proxy.shortylink.io

Option B: A Records

If ALIAS records aren't available, use A records:

TypeNameValue
A@76.76.21.21

Important

A records point to static IPs. While we try to keep these stable, ALIAS records are preferred for better reliability.
