Custom Domains
Domain Setup Guide
Use your own domain for branded short links
Custom domains allow you to create branded short links using your own domain name instead of the default ShortyLink domain.
Benefits of Custom Domains
- Brand recognition - Links that match your brand
- Trust - Users recognize your domain
- Professionalism - Clean, branded URLs
- Control - Full ownership of your links
Prerequisites
Before setting up a custom domain, you need:
- A Pro or Business plan subscription
- A domain you own (or a subdomain)
- Access to your domain's DNS settings
Step-by-Step Setup
Step 1: Add Your Domain
- Go to Dashboard → Domains
- Click Add Domain
- Enter your domain (e.g.,
go.yourcompany.com) - Click Continue
Step 2: Configure DNS
You'll be shown DNS records to add to your domain. See the DNS Configuration guide for detailed instructions.
Step 3: Verify Domain
- After adding DNS records, return to ShortyLink
- Click Verify Domain
- Wait for verification (usually under 5 minutes)
Step 4: SSL Certificate
Once verified, ShortyLink automatically provisions an SSL certificate. This takes 1-5 minutes.

Using Your Custom Domain
Once set up, you can use your domain when creating links:
- Create a new link
- Select your custom domain from the dropdown
- The link will use your branded domain
Example:

Subdomains (Recommended)
Using a subdomain like go.yourcompany.com or link.yourbrand.io is the easiest setup and doesn't affect your main website.
Root Domains
You can also use a root domain like yourlinks.com, though this requires different DNS configuration (ALIAS or ANAME records).
