Common questions about account settings and security

Getting Started

How do I create an account?

Click "Get Started" or "Sign Up" on our homepage. You can sign up with:

  • Email and password
  • Google account
  • GitHub account

Do I need an account to create links?

No! You can create anonymous links without an account. However, anonymous links have limited features and will be claimed by anyone who signs up with the same browser.

How do I claim my anonymous links?

When you create links without an account, they're stored locally. After signing up, you'll be prompted to claim these links. Click "Claim Links" to add them to your account permanently.


Profile Settings

How do I change my email address?

Go to Settings → Account and enter your new email. You'll receive a verification email to confirm the change.

How do I change my password?

Navigate to Settings → Security and click "Change Password." You'll need to enter your current password for verification.

Can I change my username?

Yes, go to Settings → Account to update your display name. This name appears in shared workspaces and team features.


Security

How do I enable two-factor authentication (2FA)?

Go to Settings → Security and click "Enable 2FA." You can use:

  • Authenticator app (recommended)
  • SMS verification

I forgot my password. How do I reset it?

Click "Forgot Password" on the login page. Enter your email, and we'll send a reset link. Links expire after 1 hour.

How do I see my active sessions?

Visit Settings → Security → Active Sessions to view all devices logged into your account. You can sign out of any session remotely.

What should I do if I notice suspicious activity?

  1. Change your password immediately
  2. Sign out of all sessions
  3. Enable 2FA if not already active
  4. Review recent link activity
  5. Contact support if needed

Data & Privacy

What data do you collect?

We collect only what's necessary to provide our service:

  • Account information (email, name)
  • Link data (URLs, click analytics)
  • Usage patterns (anonymized)

How do I download my data?

Go to Settings → Data and click "Export My Data." You'll receive an email with a download link containing all your links and analytics in JSON/CSV format.

How do I delete my account?

Navigate to Settings → Account → Delete Account. This action is permanent and will:

  • Delete all your links
  • Remove all analytics data
  • Cancel any active subscription
  • Remove team memberships

Warning: Account deletion cannot be undone. Export your data before deleting your account.


Teams & Collaboration

How do I create a team?

Go to Dashboard → Team and click "Create Team." Teams are available on Pro and higher plans.

How do I invite team members?

Navigate to Team Settings → Members and enter their email addresses. They'll receive an invitation to join.

What roles can team members have?
